SightseeingThe area around Belek has some mouth-watering attractions within an hour’s drive. In neighbouring regions, there is the Hellenistic Roman city of Perge, which is rated second after Ephesus and the great amphitheatre of Aspendos that still today can hold nearly 20.000 viewers. Nearby as well are the fantastic Manavgat Falls and the Roman city of Side, a pretty resort town with ancient ruins, two sandy beaches, numerous cafes and restaurants with a view of the sea and the shops that line the narrow streets sell typical Turkish handicrafts with its large amphitheatre. Only a few miles to the west is Antalya with its surprising harbour and ancient city where Turkish handicrafts that have begun to be recognized internationally can be bought. You can visit also ancient Burdur, the Roman city of Termossosa that is located in the high mountains above Antalya and was founded by Alexander the Great in 333 BC.
